Pausing Nexpand's SaaS MVP and pivoting to an iOS app
After soft-launching the SaaS MVP of Nexpand (subscription tracker), I exhibited it at Web Summit Qatar and spoke with hundreds of people during and after the event.
One clear pattern emerged: Most people assumed it was a mobile app📱, and many shared a strong preference for something simple, minimal, and efficient they could use on their phone. 🤔
That feedback led me to pause new registrations (as you may have noticed) and shift focus.
I'm now prioritizing Nexpand as an iOS app, with the same mission: Helping users track subscriptions and avoid unwanted charges — now with even more focus on simplicity, minimalism, and an intuitive mobile experience.
The first MVP was built quickly in a few days — based on my perspective, benchmarks, and how I envisioned the product. This time, I’m pivoting the experience (not the idea) based on real feedback and conversations with hundreds of potential users.
And like anything else, it’s still a hypothesis until tested. #buildinpublic
